An interesting FA and possible idea for whomever is going to be the Yankees GM

K, We turn the best SS in the game into a 3b, well....

Why not turn a top 5 SS into a 2b? Furcal is "looking" for around a 4/40 deal, for the yanks, 10 bucks a year is nothing. So, sign Furcal, turn him into a 2b then, you have a lead off guy, Jeter 2 hole, Arod 3 and so on....

THEN....

Trade Cano and whoever to the Twins for Hunter!!

That, would be a sweet deal for the Yankees

Furcal is better than Jeter? Wow, i'd hate to see you be the GM of a team....

Leo- This would never happen. First off Furcal is overrated, secondly the Yankees will not trade Cano, especially for Hunter.

The Yankees would best be served by filling in CF with a cheaper option (maybe Cameron) who can play D, making Giambi a full time DH, and getting a solid, gritty 1B who is not a big name but a scrapper type. They need more character players on the team....

Ya know, I thought about Cameron in CF for them.......

1. He's no spring chicken these days
2. He's not that cheap
3. How great is his vision going to be post-surgery?

He had a great for step right off the batters bat, just not sure I would pay oh, guessing 6 mill a year or so for somebody so dependant on their vision, just having surgery like he has....

I mean, if your going to do that, hell, trade for Griffey then....

Leo- I'm guessing his vision should be fine, if not obviously that changes things.

I like Cameron as a way better option than Griffey. He would come cheaper, he's better defensively at this point in their careers, and Griffey is just the big name player I think the Yankees need to avoid at this point. I don't care that Cameron is not that young, i'm only looking at him as a 2 or 3 year plan in CF. I don't like the market for CF'ers as it stands right now.

Korkie, also, dont forget a lil known fact......

Unless Matsui's contract is renegotiated prior to Nov 15th I think it is, he becomes a free agent!!

Its written that way in his original contract!! Yup, he technically, is still under contract, but the #'s either hafta be tweaked, or, the Yanks must ante up more years. Musta been something that him and his agent were sure upon when he come over the pond, that he would excell, just wanted to give a few years #'s as proof I guess.

So, Cashman hasta consider that also.

And, Preston Wilson is a FA, should be the cheaper of him and Cameron too, and, is a viable option in CF. Ya, he prob will be a 3 range or so, but should also have that -2 arm...
