[quote:433b865907]To get the most out of a middle reliever (Helling,Majewski) what are the best settings for these guys.

Slow hook, not before 6 or 7 ?????

I have Vogelsong set for Mop only.

Villone and Munter quick hook, 1-2 innings, and avoid their respective weak sides.

You have your specialist set correctly. Cordero(C) should be set as not before 8th(I leave the rest blank). Set Maj at 2-3 max(I leave the rest blank). Set Helling at not before 6th, slow hook and in settings have him set-up both ways.

Cordero must go. I used him there and he got rocked. Cost a good team a playoff spot. I would get a RH 3B(Mora?). You have enough LH bats vs rhp's already.

I have Francisco Cordero, I hope this the right guy?

His card doesn't look that bad, but he is only 2.2M (a little cheap if you ask me), but I haven't used him in '06. He didn't do very well for me last year in '05, but ........

I would go for Street. To free up cash I would dump Bedard. You don't need him within the division. That leaves only 15 other road series. How many times would you really need him and is it worth $2.27 to carry him? I would grab Hendrickson if available to pitch in a real heavily slanted park and live with Johnson the rest of the time. I would also just cut Munter. With all the RH starters and the addition of Street to an already RH pen, Munter is very redundant IMO and you can easily live without him. That's an additional $2.41 and gets you to $4.63(.59 short of Street). Majewski is OK, but not much better than Orvella for about .80 less, which would give you Street.

I guess this is the question now,

Is Thompson-Street better (Street set as set up/closer both ways)
Picked up Ray King with leftover cash

or

Majewski-Helling-Cordero better (Helling as setup both ways and F. Cordero closer both ways)

I guess you could give Cordero a shot. He was just awful for me. He was like 2-10 on an 85 -77 team with a great offense and I ended up cutting him. Might have been a fluke, but I think you were right when you said he was too cheap. Without the ninth inning only setting, the cheap guys just don't produce when forced to get six out IMO. As I said, I would cut Bedard before Helling, who should stay either way. How many games will Bedard influence, maybe a dozen? And there it is nowhere close to a certainty that he can even win half of them, as he's just not that good. Doesn't even dominate lh hitters.
