Waiver Chances

If I have the 9th waiver pick, what are my chances of getting Oliver Perez?

I can't beleive that he wasn't picked in the draft!

Zero if you don't put in a waiver request.

mjf,

The way the waivers work, you are not penalized if your guy is gone before it is your turn. Put Perez as your top waiver pick, and you can even put a backup choice SP as your second pick. If Perez is gone by your first-round pick, you wll get your second pick instead. Of course if you do get Perez with your first pick, the system will still try to give you your second pick in the second round.

I thought if your guy is gone when its your turn you miss out until its your turn again in the 2nd round? Is there a way to confirm this?

Nevermind. I think this confirms it:

The order that you have your Waiver Claims in is important. When it's your turn in the Waiver Priority queue, your highest-ranked Claim (of a player that's still available) will be processed.

Let's say that you have 2nd priority in the waiver draft. Here's the waiver order request:

1. Barry Bonds
2. Scott Rolen

The manager with the 1st priority pick chooses Barry Bonds. Does this mean that I'll get Scott Rolen?

yes you dont lose your turn if your player is taken before you pick
it defaults to your next pick...

and dont be suprised if you get Perez.....

ive seen people do alot of strange things in waivers!!!!!!!

best tihng to do ,IMO, is to have back up plans ready as soon as waivers is done.......

I managed to trade Maddux for Perez before waivers was over. Was (falsely) accused of cheating. Was it worth it? No...Perez is sucking right now. And so is Clemens!
