Strategy question

How much does speed come into play when playing in a Pitcher's park such as RFK,

I have assembled a team that meets my criteria for hitting with an average on both sides of over 30 Hits, 40 obp, and right at 50 TB's, but my speed is bad with most of my hitters in the 1-12---1-14 range.

Defense is good and pitching is ok, but with the lack of speed, will this team be able to win????

The league is very Pitcher Park orientated as well

When I'm playing live speed on the basepaths is one of my very favorite things to exploit, but I'm still not certain (and I've played TSN from the beginning) how HAL uses that particular setting. There's no stat that you can read to find out how your aggressiveness is working out.

I often play w/o speed in pitcher parks, it's not a hinderance. It can be an advantage, but it's not needed.

If your league is pitcher park oriented, I'd consider more risk at SP. Webb should be excellent, but the other three are crapshoots. Of course, I'm just not that crazy about the crop of * this year.

I'm very interested to see how Matsui and Payton will fare for you. How about a good ob vr backup (lf or dh) for Matsui?

Matsui is strictly a DH vs Righty

Kielty is my LF vs Lefty
Diaz is my LF vs Righty

Diaz is my DH vs Lefty

Payton is my CF

We will see how it works out, I don't forsee changing now because there really isn't anyone that will help me in terms of hitting and I have made my bed with the pitching, but I think it will hold up especially because of the number of Pitcher's parks in the league.

Those were my assumptions, except ... any reason you'd choose Diaz over Matsui in LF vs R? I'd still consider dropping McDonald or a rp and picking up Womack another cheapo with upside OBP for a backup DH vs R.

You should be very competitive, in my uninformed opinion.

Good luck!
