Thanks for the Mauer tips, I have him for the first time this year and was planning on leading him off.

I moved him from third to leadoff and his OBP went up 80 points in one night. I should have started the season with him there. thanks everyone.

I have Mauer on 3 teams, all of which are fairly good 1 playoff team so far and 2 that look like good bets to make it. I like the idea of hitting Mauer leadoff, but must admit I have not done it. He almost always hits 3rd and sometimes drops to 5th vs lefties on my teams. Mauer has been great for me thus far. I've found that one good way to avoid too many DP's with Mauer is to take advantage of his H&R rating and to have speed at the top of the lineup, which also gives him the chance to drive in several runs and for my #4 hitter to be hitting with somebody on atleast 40% of the time.

example of my 3 teams

1.Jeter
2.F.Lopez
3.Mauer

1.Castillo
2.Freel
3.Mauer

1.Crawford
2.B.Roberts
3.Mauer

just another idea.
