Need suggestions down the stretch

Need suggestions down the stretch

60 games to go and five games out of first but team has never gotten more than 5 games over .500. The league is pretty even so maybe I'm just impatient but any suggestions about getting me going. Nobody wants to trade and making moves pretty costly but maybe some strategy or lineup help.

Speaking of lineups...what are they?

FWIW- Juan Pierre hasn't had a "decent" card in a few years. He's got:
a terrible arm, no OB and he's W both ways.

Not a good thing in your park. :?

FWIW (since I seem to be getting beaten up alot lately):

Get Pierre out of the two slot against lefties. Aurilia would be better there, and you've got him hitting fifth with a really bad clutch rating. I'd take advantage of the fairly low DPs on his card and move him to second. Pierre is just a singles hitter who probably gets stuck behind Abreu and can't steal any bases because of it.

I don't think you have a good five hitter for lefties, actually, which is a bit problematic, but Kielty would seem to be a better fit than Aurilia, although his clutch is god awful as well.

That moves Pierre down, but not out, which would be the best thing, getting a CF who has even a little pop and at least a 0 arm would help.

Switch Ortiz and Pujols. Ortiz isn't a good average hitter but hits more HR, Pujols makes more sense at three than Ortiz.

Also, although the splits don't show it, it sure seems like you're vulnerable to RHP, with Pudge and Aurilia and Pierre all better against lefties. Other than Ibanez, you don't really have a righty killer, and you are seeing a ton of righthanded pitching, the split is very high.

My two cents, which is worth at this point about .0075.....

I'd go:
vs. RH's

Abreu (best OB here)
Roberts (guys like him, not crazy about him here, but you have nothing else)
Pujols (better hitter than Big Papi)
Ortiz (duh...)
Ibanez (not the best, but all you've got)
Aurilia
Pudge
Cabrera
Pierre

The bottom half of your lineup is hurtin'. You either need some + clutch or a better bat down there.

vs. LH's:
Abreu
Pierre
Aurilia
Pujols
Kielty
Ortiz
Pudge
Cabrera
Roberts

Kinda unconventional. But you hit LH's better than RH's. Not the best formula in the Strat world, unless you have 6-8 LH's in your division.
Aurilia and Kielty rake vs. LH's so I like them hitting higher.

Thanks for the suggestions. I intend to get rid of Pierre. and I know I have a righty problem. Will figure something out.
