Rolen will do poorly vs. LHP. I like to platoon him with Smith. I like him better than Zimmerman, if you have the cash.

Granted I've only had experience with Zimmerman on 2 teams, but both times he's underachieved - hit .250 something or lower with a similar OBP. IMO, he's too expensive for what you get compared to other 3Bs. I'd go with Rolen or even a lower-end 3B cost-wise - I'd even go as low as bargin basement Pedro Feliz as a better option than Zimm! (I may be bitter though...).

Had Zimmerman in Ameriquest and barely batting over the mendoza line at .212 and 3 homers in 50 games. Don't understand it. I have Dan uggla at 2nd and 2mil less and he's killing it at .290 and 10 homers in 50 games. Had Teehan who was hitting about .280 but I thought I needed better defense and less injury factor. Shouldn't have cut him. :(

Buck the trend, go with Lowell at 3b...especially in Rodgers Center.

I've had success with Zimmerman. The one time I had Rolen, he sucked so bad, I had to cut him.

Just cut zimmerman and his .212 average and replaced him with Hinske who has hit 9 for 12 and 2 homers. Know it won't last but at least got some production out of the position.
