Pitching and Injury Transitions from Regular to Postseason

So assuming one is lucky enough to make the playoffs, is game #1 treated as if it happened the day after the regular season? In other words if Pedro Martinez pitches the last regular season game must he rest the first four postseason games? Or do you start with a clean slate for your pitching, starting and relief? And do injuries carry over?
