Welcome to Strat Online, huhguy! For starters here are the rules regarding joining a league:
Joining a League
After you've chosen your 25 players, ranked them, and selected a home ballpark, you'll be presented with a link to "FIND A LEAGUE".
You'll have 3 options:
* Create Your Own League - You can create your own private league for yourself and your friends, and decide the specific rules and options that will be in effect for the league (a list can be found below). This route is recommended either for veterans of Strat-O-Matic Online or those that have a group of friends they would like to play with. If you are a beginner and you're by yourself, we recommend you join a standard-rule Auto League.
* Join an Existing League - You can look for a league your friend has created, or a league that has the specific rules settings you'd like to play with (the list of options can be found below). If that league has a password, you'll need to know it in order to join.
* Join an Auto League - You'll be put in a random league with other teams who've also chosen to be put in an Auto League. All Auto Leagues use the default settings for all the customizable rules and options, namely: $80,000,000 salary cap, DH rule, Standard Waivers, Standard Standard skill level, 20% Free Agent Drop Penalty -- so be sure you set up your draft list with that in mind.
Note that you must join a league that is the same season as the team you created. From another post I saw that you have a 2003 season team, so you can only join 2003 season leagues. Most of the time I would suggest joining an autoleague for first timers, but there are not a lot of people playing the older seasons so filling up the league could be a problem.
I recommend you either look for league announcements on this forum for a 2003 league forming that you can join, or start a thread here yourself and ask for others to join with you.
