here's an example of a team that is currently in game 7 of the finals:

You see Scott has the most total bases vs RH in the set. My RP staff is a little better than what I am trying to get you to do, but the bottom of the rotation is rather weak and needed it.

You want to spens the $$ on who gets the most innigns.

s your closer only get 60-80, you need 1 or 2 good guys to eat those important innings that bridge the starter to closer. 1 guy to eat that crap inings whewn the sp gets knocked out early.right now you have a bunch of crap guys, condense those, say keep just E Gonzalez and your mop up, and 1 LH and 1 RH specialist. Then put the rest into 1 RP .

actually your team vs R is just what I would do.

vs L I would go:

vs LHP

1. Scott, L. (L) DH - 6R
2. Cruz, J. (S) LF 3(-1)e7 6L
3. Morneau, J. (L) 1B 3e9 1L
4. McCann, B. (L) C 2(0)e6 2R
5. Cuddyer, M. (R) RF 3(-2)e6 1L
6. Matthews Jr., G. (S) CF 2(-1)e8 2L
7. Wright, D. (R) 3B 3e20 2R
8. Cabrera, O. (R) SS 2e18 2R
9. Phillips, B. (R) 2B 2e19 E

as much as Scott's low double plays are better in the #2 spot, Cruz's syuperior tb's will help move that 50 ob chances along better. Morneau is the best hitter you have vs L, and needs to be 3rd.

Also I like your team, but would move Tomko for hancock, and make sure all your rp's save for E Gonzalez are set avoid before 6th (or later) so only EGon comes in early when your sp's get knocked around.

Lastly I'd get a better 2b backup (than Biggio) as (besides C which is always a risk) 2b and LF are your only 15 game risks

I'm in a similar comeback last played '04...AFKA Gino

My first team back just snagged a wildcard! I'm a little surprised, especially seeing how i MISSED the FA Frenzy completely(!) and had to make scrapple. Looks like I waited too long to pull the trigger on a couple moves. We'll see if they help me vs the league juggernaut though, It was an odd league to me, maybe not for you guys though. Very RH heavy. For reference, I tend to build my teams a little different from the norm and the critics used to bash them mercilessly, lol. I usually don't go bombs away, try to be balanced. Obviously my pitching disappointed.

Of note: Had Nick Johnson for 3/4 of season (was a doubles and on-base machine, (.248, 45 doubles,17hr, 72rbi, 452abs, .374ob) but just was not enough to justify 8mil imho, lol) dropped him for Frank Thomas, Emil Brown and a RP. Dan Haren was shredded beginning week3, finally i scrapped my 4 man rotation and went with Gorz and Meche (who was lights out first 5 starts, helped get me back in the race).

Ended up 7th in runs, 4th in earned allowed, the best team vs division opponents but now it's playoff time. Again we'll see how it turns out, lol.

It's good to be back :)
