Pitching Help!!! Halladay is killing me

Pitching Help!!! Halladay is killing me

Postby cacheese » Fri Feb 22, 2008 4:13 pm

I have constructed a team that I felt was pretty powerful.

I have Roy Halladay at the top of my staff and the defense to let him win games- But for the life of me, I cannot get him to pitch well.

He is 10-17 with a 4.79 ERA and 1.28 WHIP

All of the old pros have told me to hold on and let him work his magic- But now I am in danger of missing the playoffs after barely clinging to first in my division. ANY advice would be appreciated. I feel like it is too late to make a run though.

Thanks for the time.

stop panicking, you just have to ride this one out. What's the alternative, cutting his *** and enduring a 20% drop penalty and picking up a lesser pitcher? There's nothing wrong with Halladay's virtual strat card; I had him go 20-10 with a 3 era in coors with a poor D. Youre just getting unlucky, and sometimes people turn in unlucky seasons. But it doesnt mean you spit in the face of statistical odds and replace him with a lesser pitcher.

Besides, your bad luck with Halladay (and Zambrano) is balanced out by your good luck with Mackowiak, Furcal, Maddux, Littleton. And there are 45 games left.

Good point- I just figured he was good for going at least .500 and if he was- I would be destroying my league.

Thanks for the splash of cool water in the face.

Bad luck. Halladay has given up almost twice as many homers for you this season as he did in real life. Any pitcher is going to suffer with that kind of luck. The chance of him pitching that poorly ALL season is pretty low. Good luck.
