In two consecutive games, HAL substituted one of my catchers as a defensive replacement for my thirdbasemen Alex Gordon (3e18). I have Gordon's personal strategy settings set so he is normally removed in late inning situations and replaced by either Jeff Cirillo or Craig Counsell (both rated 3e5), but they were both on the DL at time HAL chose to subsitute an unrated player at third as a defensive replacement.

Not a glitch. If you have a player checked to be removed for a defensive replacement HAL will do so even if your intended replacements are injured. You have to either uncheck your starting player to be removed from the game while your glove men are injured or HAL will replace him with somebody you wouldn't want him to.

The remove for defensive replacement on your starting player's card and the defensive replacments on the team settings are two different commands to HAL. When everybody is healthy it works like a charm. When your glove man is not available HAL still sees that you want to remove your starter at the end of the game if you are ahead.
