Advice for a no DH league

This will be my first NO DH league. Any advice on how many PH I will need? And any recommendations on the numbers of pitchers?

The only thing different I try to do in a non DH league is not to give up another out in the lineup, which for most people means the catching slot. Unless playing in a hitter's park in a hitter's park league, I wouldn't carry more than the normal 13 to 14 hitters with perhaps a solid slanted hitter vs both sides of an inexpensive variety. Make sure the emphasis on $ is spent on your starting 8, and maybe go with a pinch hitting tandem such as Pierce/Martin in a pitchers park, or Sosa/Jimenez in a hitters park. Or, go with 1 pinch hitter that is decent vs both sides, such as R. Davis or Willits. Pinch hitting comes up less frequently than you would think. Again, focus most of your hitting $ on your starting 8 and don't go cheap with the catcher.

I usually platoon at one position so that gives me a ready made pinch hitter combo. I prefer to have a number eight hitter with a decent steal rating who can put a little added pressure on the defense and I pay attention to the bunt ratings for my pitchers. If two pitchers are close in their pitching ability, I will give the nod to the one who can bunt or swing the bat better.

I usually draft two players under $1mil, one slanted heavily towards lefties, one towards righties, preferably that can also fill in for an injured position player if necessary.

That seems to be a smart move no matter what type of league you're in. I'm doing that in a "regular" league with Jamey Carroll. He's <$1M but has a solid glove at 2B with a 1 injury rating. He also plays multiple positions, so he can cover for a number of starters if they go down.
