I've seen this notion in other posts as well. And its what I would have believed given the teams I have put together in the new game. I play in pitchers parks and I shoot for an average among the hitters of 30 hits, 40 OB and 45 TB's against RHP. It's easy to do against LHP but if I want great D, BA and doubles I need a couple of platoons to get there vs. RHP.
However, I averaged the L/R hitter splits from 6 leagues that have been completed.
72 teams and 400,000 AB's:

Lefties aren't getting pounded in this sample. Focus on your division. If all 3 teams are heavily balanced to hit LHP, sure, don't have any of those. But don't avoid a pitcher only because they face first when they are winding up. To the topic, Gabbard.
