Washburn, Davis, Hernandez, Suppan, Moyer, Cabrera and Gaudin...not the cream of the crop.

I kept Pat Burrell despite the advice and you know what...I started the season 0 - 3. But Pat is hitting .333.

Now that my record is 0 - 6, I am following the advice and dumped Burrell for Damon. I also picked up a better catcher with Chris Snyder.

This is Ray is dead on correct! Do not start dumping players. That is a bad thing to do. Learn from your mistakes and build a better team next time, more suited to your park. But if you start dumping guys you will wind up with a 60 million dollar team in an 80 million dollar league. I have seen teams(even my own teams) start horrible(7-14 or worse) and turn it around and make the playoffs. You can not judge a team off of 6, or even 50 games, it is too small of a sample. And also remember a lot of luck is involved. As someone once said(I can't remember who),"If this game was all skill, it would be called, chess". Sure there is skill involved, but most of it happens before the season starts. Once the season starts you need some luck,.....just like in real life! And with that, Good luck!

Agreed! Six games does not a season make. Seen a team begin 2 and 16, missing out on the playoffs in the final series, though he was in position and held his own destiny. Trust your team building once the season begins, and play it out for at least 1/4 of the season, and of course, learn from mistakes.

As for for the chess reference, this game is indeed spiced with both luck and skill. However, even in a game with some luck involved, there are both chess and checker players. :D :D
