Milton Bradley

I was hoping I could get 100 runs out of Bradley, but had no idea he would be this productive. His dreaded 3-8 injury roll came up 7 times, but he missed only 14 "additional" games due to injury. I held him out of the last 3 games prior to the playoffs to protect him. He amassed 637 PAs, hit .304, OBP of .394, scored 134 runs, hit 40 homers and drove in 96 from the lead-off spot. It did not hurt that Ordonez hit .369 right behind him, and Fielder hit 67 HRs in the #3 spot at the Cell. Anyone had better production from Bradley?

Nice season from him.

The best I got from him was 455 PA's.

I check again, but I do know I wasn't disappointed.

You also got 40 homers and a .304 average out of JJ Hardy. That was a nice team. I have had Milton Bradley on one team out of 13 so far this year, and I traded him just prior to the mid way point. I was second guessing myself about drafting him from day one. Since the trade I am 5-1. But the best part is I do not have to worry about him missing every other game. Of course I am not going to get the same production out of my Abreu/Winn platoon, but it least it will be stable. Ironically JJ Hardy was in the same deal, and I received Orlando Cabrera. I am playing in Kauffman, and I never wanted Hardy for the singles park anyway. But he did a fine job for you. Did you make the playoffs? Nice work either way. That is an exciting team you have got there!

Yes, the team made the playoffs, but lost in the first round in 4 games. Hardy and Phillips were both great against leftys, but Hardy (unlike Phillips) held his own against the righthanders too. I do like Hardy in the HR parks. Spezio also did a reasonable job as a cheap 1B (although also injury prone) while Fielder mainly was the DH. I enjoy these higher scoring teams and seem to have more success with them, even when their pitching is quite thin.
