To get 200+ IP out of stud R2/C5-6 types, I've used them as setup and close, slow hook. If you have trouble with others coming in to relieve him, could try:
(no particalr order, and i wouldn't do them all at once--test each out)

- marking him not to come in before the 7th (but usually I save this for the R1/C6 types like Wagner)
- make sure the other relievers aren't retsrticted by when to come in
- ensure mark cheapies for mopup
- keep closer usage at regular, otherwise you won't see him except in SOM save situations
- put S/R guys in the rotation to limit Hal's options
- Finally in some cases I've had success with marking the stud as do not use in blowouts and setting relief to conservative.

Really have to try a single tweak at a time and see how it affects Hal's management of your bullpen. Then look at boxscores and see who is coming in for him when he's pulled, and against what type batter in what type situation, then post that here with a few samples and I'm sure someone can help with tweaks to keep Lidge in til his arm falls off.
