Draft strategy

Postby gett1863 » Fri Mar 03, 2006 6:49 pm

First off, my apologies, I am sure that this subject has been covered but would appreciate any thoughts considering "how to draft?" Especially as it relates to the 2005 season.

While I am ready to follow the"secreat formula" the question is how do you get to the team that you want through the draft?

I am considering drafting 5 of the pitchers that I covet and 6 or so of the hitters I really want then fill in the blanks with low end players. Hopefully I will end up with the players that I need, in key positions, and have others that I can use to trade to fill in the gaps via trade or the waiver wire

any and all suggestions are welcome

Thanks.
J

PS- The team I am drafting is thanks to the generous 50% discount offered by TSN:)

im not sure if there is a set strategy to drafting.....

i have had teams where i end up with most of the guys i selected and other times i dont get many at all.....
it maybe the luck of the draw.........

and sometimes i actually like NOT getting many of the guys i treid to...gives me better waiver picks ...and alot of $$$$$ for FA........

As a new player, and not having an understanding of the minutiae of the cards and the game (my parents bought me "All Star Baseball", not "Strat-o-matic"), the Search function has been invaluable for me. Here are a couple of Drafting threads I have bookmarked
