Ratings for the New Card Set

Ratings for the New Card Set

Postby joethejet » Sat Mar 07, 2009 3:52 pm

Hello All,

If you're looking for a way to improve your results by understanding the cards better and how to rate them, I just wanted to make you aware that I have been providing services that might help out.

In case you're curious, some of the guys who have purchased my 200n ratings in the past are: Riggo Drill, Woods, etdefender, Play By The Rules, stevep107, Kaviksdad, akIndian, and jaydingess.

Some ATG3 guys are: Petrosian, wjanssen, bobby, irish iii, PBTR, greyhound, Jablowmi, rob55, and juma.

The guys who have purchased JTJ ratings have been very appreciative and mostly successful (see the site for their comments) so I wanted to let others know that it's available if they are so inclined.

I think there are also services provided others. This certainly isn't the only way to get an understanding, but I just wanted to make people aware it's available in case they didn't know. Even if you don't use our system, I believe it's important to have *some* type of rating system with which to compare players.

I'm offering:

- Files containing all the stat calculations for the players along with my Ratings for all eligible players. Among other things, the ratings take into account hitting, power, ob, fielding, stealing, running, wild pitches, balksand T-ratings.

- Value Ratings for Teams (including specific comments on strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement) and if requested, entire leagues.

- Ratings are available for all 200X, 1969, and ATG3/4.

Ok, now the bad news, I charge a modest fee for these services. Here's why:

- It takes time to generate the files. The only way I can justify the time to myself (and my family) is to get compensated for the time.

- I don't think it's fair to the guys who put a lot of time into do the calcs to just give it away

- The JoeTheJet ratings system took years for Wineman and I to develop and fine tune. We've been playing SOM for a combined 60+ years and we think it's a dang good way to evaluate the players.

If no one is interested, no problem - my day job keeps me plenty busy

You should be able to get all the info you need at the web site below. Or, contact me at ( joethejet at iwon. com or joethejet4 @ gmail. com)

I know some don't like that I do this and I'm sorry if this offends you, my only intent by this post is to let others know that there is a service available if they're interested. If not, fine by me, I can spend more time on my own teams!!!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask away! :)

Joe "The Jet",
Are you telling me that for the price of a cobb salad, and a pint of warm Cutty Sark you will sell me all the info I need to be a winner?

How much for position by position player rankings for the latest SOM card set(2008)?

Not sure if I can guarantee you a winner. ;) But, I will say that this game is tough to be good at without some type of ratings system or without spending a LOT of time studying the cards/ratings disk. Whether you want to use this or some other method, I would suggest that you have some type of system.

All the information on pricing is on the web site. (See the URL below) I'd prefer not to post that here as I think it offends some people.

I will say that it's less than the minimum you can pull out of an ATM. ;)

In case anyone cares, I've added two more "canned" parks to the list:

Petco and Wrigley

I agree that it helps to have all the raw data,....from the cards.

There's no other way to put it:

[i:960aace6a1]Managers who use Joe's ratings are [u:960aace6a1][b:960aace6a1]ALWAYS[/b:960aace6a1][/u:960aace6a1] hard to beat[/i:960aace6a1].

Thanks for still making your knowledge of the game available to us Jet!
