Subject: TRADE OFFER: No subject

You give up:
Jeter, Derek
Mientkiewicz, Doug
Victorino, Shane

Other team gives up:
Bartlett, Jason
Huff, Aubrey
Gerut, Jody

I have Furcal at SS already. I just wanted a decent SS backup and upgrade at 1B. Is Gerut a big downgrade in CF?

Attached is a link to my team.

I would not do this deal. If you were in a HR park I would consider it but Gerut will lose a lot of his value in BPHR outs in your park which makes his defense in CF not worth it. I would trade either Jeter or Furcal for Huff however as you need improvement at 1B or 3B. I really like Prado in Angels. He can play either 1B or 3B but is injury prone. I still would start him at either 1B or 3B and get a starter for the other position. Huff fits in great and has 600+ PA so is not a big injury risk.

Since you are already starting Prado I would lean towards trading Furcal and keeping Jeter.

Furcal has been incredible for me! And Bartlett would make a good backup when he goes down. The only problem I see is playing a 3 in CF, but I do not think it is a bad trade. I would say it is pretty even. Furcal is worth it! And especially if you have a good backup like Bartlett. Good luck.

I'd echo LMB's thoughts, except I wouldn't put Furcal on the block. See if he'll swap Huff for Jeter or Jeter/Mientkiewicz. I'd also look to move Rios if you can; he seems unneeded. There are some good platoon guys still in the mix (Pearce, Dobbs, et. al.) who might fit you.

It is kind of a waste to have both Fucal and Jeter. Ideally you would like to have a real nice backup for when Furcal gets hurt, however Jeter is too good to be a backup. I would aggressively try to trade one of your top notch SS for a better starting pitcher. Furcal will get hurt often, but when he does play he will put up HUGE numbers. He has the best SS card I have seen in a long long time, and maybe ever, but he will get hurt often. I had him in one league and I was lucky enough to get 500 plate appearances out of him. Jeter is solid too, and much more reliable. I would think you could trade one of them for a better starting pitcher, and that would help your team. Also do not panic just because you are off to a slow start. I have had teams start 4-14 and end up making the playoffs. Since there is no salary cap, check the waiver wire everyday, and look to upgrade whenever you can, but don't you give up on any of your real good/star players. Good luck(often that is what it takes).
