Books on Strat

I am new to Strat, and have only played 3 teams (2 in the Barnstormer Tour and 1 in the 2007). I am struggling mightily in the Barnstormer, which I expected since its an advanced league with experienced players, but I wanted the experience, and hoped to learn from others. However, I am doing well in the 2007 League with the 2nd best record, but am the WC.

My question is are there any books out there that explain strategies or theories about this game? Are there any monthly magazines, etc. I understand that Bill James has had a huge influence on this game, has he written anything specific to Strat?

I actually bought one a couple of years ago. It was a notebook type book from a guy who put it out on his own. There are various websites such as somworld.com(strat fan site) and Star Tournaments(som Tourneys around the country).

There is the cult classic, "Strat-O-Matic Fanatics" By Glenn Guzzo. But that book is filled with interesting stories about the game, the game's inventor, and famous STRAT players.

Then there are a couple various books that crunch the raw numbers of each players' cards for any given season. One of these such books can be bought straight from Strat. And then there are several sold by off market Strat Fans. The SOM WORD WEB SITE might be the only place where you get actually advice on building teams, and winning championships. And of course it ALWAYS helps to read THESE forums. Good luck!
