Rookie Playoff Team - Lineup Advice

Rookie Playoff Team - Lineup Advice

Postby hugedude24 » Fri Mar 10, 2006 1:13 am

First time player, and I'm in the playoffs. I think I could have had the best record in the league, but I'll end up playing second fiddle to the East's leader (I sat my injury players for the last week to avoid unnecessary risk, and lost the league lead, but at least my decision did not affect the wild card at all).

My team is rather effecient I feel, but I think some Strat pros might help with some lineup suggestions. Here is a link to my team:

http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/2005/team/team_other.html?user_id=50761

My lineups have varied but are basically:

RHP:
Clark
Abreu
Mauer
Chavez
Klesko
Stewart
Izturis
Baldelli
Harris

LHP:
Clark
Abreu
Chavez
Baldelli
Klesko
Stewart
Izturis
Torrealba
Blum

What do the pros see that this amateur cannot? Thanks in advance for sage wisdom.

C'mon bro!!! Don't help this guy!! He's my brother and this is both our first time playing and as it turns out, we are meeting in the semi-finals. Let's just duke it out now, brother vs brother, civil war style! Why are you gonna try to bring in special consultants now??? let's just play, you vs. me!

Drew, you know I'm my own man, but I'm curious as to what others would do with what I have on my team. I want to win, period, and I'm not too proud to ask for help.

Pitch Weaver in Game 2, save Santana for Shea. Drewdogs, I'd do the same with Hudson in 2 and Schilling in 3.

Outside of that, have to say you'd be a huge favorite in my book hugedude. (unless ARod goes nuts against your two aces)

Just a little FYI, we've split the series when we've played in the regular season. :)

Playoffs are a different animal - RJ and Santana for 3 out of 5 games will be tough to overcome.

Based on your lineups I would throw every LHP I had at you. Your RH lineup is quite good. Your LH lineup is so-so.

I've used Klesko many times...he's probably not good at number five versus lefties.

Another guy gets RJ AND Santana! Wish I were so lucky.

This league I just played in (and came in second in) this dude had RJ, Santana, Carlos Zambrano and B. Bonds. I beat him in the semi's, but I thought that was sick.
