Justifying Slavery?? Boycott in effect!

[quote:9888f92811="The Turtle"]I too received a PM from rmilter accusing me of saying something I did not say and, of course, accusing me of being a racist for not agreeing with him.

He talks about offending people and then offends everyone else by making false accusations. He won't stand for a random comment on a message board that may have not been well though out? Well, I will not stand for being personally accosted by him.

I have reported him for the abuse and I am blocking him so his posts to do not show up to me. I hope everyone else does the same.[/quote:9888f92811]

I received two PMs from rmilter earlier today. Apparently he wants to fight me!

Anyway, I've taken Turtle's advice: I reported rmilter for abuse (the name calling is uncalled for), and I have blocked him so I will no longer see his posts.

What a amazing post this turned out to be.

I have followed this from the begining. What I am about to say has nothing to do with President Obama as a person. I am amazed at how race has come to the fore front. We have elected a man who is half black, half white. You would think that we have taken a step foward as a country and it appears we have taken 2 steps back. This is not to put blame on anyone that has posted here. One post nailed right on the button. Those that still see (black and white) our taking those two steps backwards and not taking this country foward. I am very afraid of the direction of this country and it has nothing to do with the color of the President. People are angry and I know why. In a NUTSHELL here it is. Jobs are being lost and everyone lives in fear that thier job is next. With no prospect of future employment in site we are all walking on eggshells. Consider the source I always say and the source here is we are all facing a time that we have never had to endure. Wars are horrible but facing your own family when you can't feed them can make you desperate. This post shows that in almost all of it. May GOD be with you in this time of need. I pray we make it out of this and it dosen't matter who or whom put us here. It only matters that we are here. Good health to you and your loved ones. Money is right around the corner, worry about your health is what my Dad always said. He was in the Korean War. On a not so serious note I always say don't forget to kiss your kids for you and SPANK your wife for me. GOD BLESS US ALL! Mike

I agree, chasenally, having a bi-racial president has definitely brought many of these issues more to the forefront. Here's the thing though: it's been at the forefront of every black person's life for his or her entire life in the U.S. because of how many of us still consciously or subconsciously treat people of other races as less important than our own (this sin exists in all groups, to be clear). As a white man with many black friends, I'm glad race has been brought to the forefront so that we can continue to improve and grow. We've made HUGE strides in the last 40-45 years, but we (all racial groups) still have more to do.

I am starting my own boycott of "race-baiting, liberal loons" starting with:

rmilter

rmilter, take your race-bating nonsense to NBC the National Barrack Channel and leave everyone else alone.

Great stuff, everyone. This thread is now locked. I'll be looking into the events that instigated this hoopla, but really, just settle down please.
