1999 Lightning Round

1b - Thome or McGriff?
2b- Durham or Knoblauch? (he's a 4 but very good offensive card)
lf - Benard or Justice?

My ballpark is Kauffman and I am in a division with Veterans, Metrodome and Cinergy. I have the first 3 guys but all have been underwhelming 33 games in.

Toss up...Thome...gets on with high OBP both ways....power is sweet..Crime Dog defensive issues but can really get into the RHP...in the long run I'd keep Thome due to expense of cutting him

Cant play Knobs in the field..strickly a DH

Bernard....he's an excellent 2 hole hitter and durable...Justice is Thome light with injury issues

I'd recommend patience

I've come to the conclusion Justice underperforms and Benard isn't my favorite either. I would personally go with Henry Rodriguez with a platoon in this price range. Even Grieve with a platoon wouldn't be bad.

Thanks guys. I kept Benard and Durham, cashed in Thome for McGriff and used extra money to upgrade my bullpen. We have the graduated haircuts and I wanted to make these moves while haircut was 5%.

Always go w/ the ex Padre! :D

McGriff only hitting .260 but 2nd on team w/ 11 HRs.

Anyone have exp w/ Ryan ([u:8879f8aa9b][b:8879f8aa9b]LH 9R[/b:8879f8aa9b][/u:8879f8aa9b]) Klesko?

So with the 10% haircut looming and my team sputtering I decided to dump a couple of underperformers in Durham and Zeile for McLemore and Koskie. My team struggles v. righties and I am 2nd worst on ERA while leading in runs scored. I know that patience is a virtue (and I appreciate it) but sometimes it helps to shake things up. It keeps guys from getting too comfortable in the clubhouse. :)

At the very least McLemore will help defensively. So did I make good moves or should I have held onto Zeile and Durham?

Thanks,
TVF
