I have read (and seen it on the CD Rom game) that the catcher's range can affect the ability to throw out a runner trying to take home as an extra base (base running).
But how? I think I have read on one of the bulletin boards that maybe 15% of throws to home are affected by the catcher's range - is this correct? And then, if it is a play that IS affected by the catcher's range, how does it affect the throw to the plate? Is it something like this - range 1 - -2, range 2 - -1, range 3 - no effect, range 4 +1, range 5 +2?? (I'm just guessing - I don't know!)
Can anyone help me with this? (Another player is also interested in the answer to this).
Thanks! Geoff Brookes/Goldeyes/BlueBombers/Jets :)
