credits and seasons

Please scan this, which followed a league championship for the 2007/2006 card set (which is $12.50 per team):

Congratulations on the success of your Strat-O-Matic team!

Team Credits left to claim: 2

For each of your eligible prize credits, you may choose any one item from the list of eligible Strat-O-Matic Online products below. To claim 1 credit, click on the appropriate link.

Note: Clicking on a link claims the credit immediately; you won't be given the chance to change your mind.

- Strat-O-Matic Baseball Online: 2006 season
- Strat-O-Matic Baseball Online: 2005 season
- Strat-O-Matic Baseball Online: 2004 season
- Strat-O-Matic Baseball Online: 2003 Season
- Strat-O-Matic Baseball Online: 2002 Season
- Strat-O-Matic Baseball Online: 2001 Season
- Strat-O-Matic Baseball Online: ATG, 2007-2009, 1999, 1986
- Strat-O-Matic Baseball Online: Back to the 80's
- Strat-O-Matic Baseball: The '70s Game
- Strat-O-Matic Baseball Online 1969
- Strat-O-Matic FantaSim Baseball
(end quote)

My question: is this just another example of SOM completely ignoring older versions and so not updating them to give accurate information, or in fact is it actually true that I can use "one" credit (for this $12.50 team) to buy "one" of the $25 ATG, 2007-2009, 1999, 1986 teams, and the second credit to buy ANOTHER of the $25 ATG, 2007-2009, 1999, 1986 teams?

Note that "Clicking on a link claims the credit immediately; you won't be given the chance to change your mind." So if I click the newer set and it turns out it costs TWO credits, then I don't get to take it back to buy two older teams for one credit each (I'd prefer to get two teams no matter what vintage). This is very irritating if true.

Sorry, I need to add another question: If there are some choices above that I [b:f23c220305][i:f23c220305]can't[/i:f23c220305][/b:f23c220305] get for only "one credit," which ones are they? That is: Can I get the 1969 set for one credit, etc.

Apologies for bumping this, but I'd really appreciate it if someone could reply. (Hey, after all, I have a lifetime W/L pct of under .500 and I could use the credits to get into two of your leagues!)

The basic question is: can 2 credits be used to get (for example) two 2009 teams? If not, which teams can I get two of?

Thanks very much in advance.

Yes.

The cost of the team that won you the credit(s) is irrelevant. A credit won with one of the older 12.50 200X games will allow you to buy any of the games in your list.

The fact that the team that won you the 2 credits beat mine in the finals in no way has influenced my answer to your question.

Ignore the wink.

I guess.

Just kidding about the "I guess".

As far as you know. :)

Actually, I play a lot of the older games throughout the year and use those credits to get the $25 games. As Steve Martin said in The Jerk: "Its a profit deal".

Hey, Palmtana -- first, thanks very much for answering my question. Second, sorry about the finals, but it might make you feel better to know it was my first finals win after 27 teams and two years of playing. BTW, my team wasn't as sucky as it looked. After 9 starts, I dropped Zito, whose ERA was 9+, and in whose starts the RS/RA was 22-65; and (after clinching) I scrubbed the last six games (RS/RA 14-38) to avoid injuries. Thanks for being a good sport, and I hope I can return the favor (investment ideas? legal advice?).
