CF able to play LF or RF?

Hi, I've got Speaker and his card is only showing CF. Can he successfully play LF or RF without a penalty? Thanks

Hmmm. Not so sure.

I don't know of any way we can direct the Lineups function here to play a CF only at any other position.

In the CARD game, there is a penalty knockdown in rating -- very small from on OF position to another, -- and maybe even in the CD game, but as far as I know it is not possible here.

Can someone correct me?

Basically the online game won't really let you do it. You can't put him in the starting lineup in an unlisted position. If because of injury or the fact that nobody has that position listed, HAL might do the right thing and play him there if he thinks it makes sense, but I wouldn't leave it up to him. :? All kinds of whacky things could result from such a strategy, like stupid double switches, or needless late inning shuffles.

So, if HAL has to play him there, he's a 2. If your trying to get HAL to play him there as a strategy, forget it.
