I know I will get killed with the 20% penalty. However, as you can see from my team my SS,2B, and CF are killing me....Ramirez at SS is just not hitting at all and Kendrick isn't really. Guiterez in CF is trying to find the Mendoza line even though he plays great CF. Throw in Howard at 1B and it is amazing I am even close.

I was thinking of dropping Howard, Ramirez, Guiterez, and Kendrick. Taking the hit in salary and go with Dunn as my dh and McDonald at 2b, a fill in at SS, and maybe pick up Granderson for CF....I know it is a huge gamble...but I just feel like I am slipping away with the middle defense I have. Or should I just ride out the season and chalk it up to a learning experience. Some of you told me before the season Ramirez wasn't a great choice at SS.....of course I didn't listen....I am listening now..lol....

any thoughts would be welcome...

First look to see if you can find a team that needs a 1B that would trade you a DH or good LF.
I would drop Howard and find a good outfielder that would make Holliday your DH.
OR
Try and trade HanRam for a SS or him and Howard for whoever has Crawford and a DH like Cust with high OBP and HR power from both sides of his card.
Worst Idea
Drop HanRam and Howard and find a great LF or DH. and use your backup SS as a starter.

How are you using Ramirez? he did quite well for me leading off vs right and batting 6th vs left (good power) SS is very weak I would drop him only if Alex Gonzalez is available.

You are a game over .500 so I would be hesitant to drop people just yet. I would try and make a trade and I would also move your lineups around. Sometimes that has a big effect.

In regards to Franklin Gutierrez you can't expect much from him on the offense. Here is a season I played with him and as a team had some success.

I had him as a 7 or 8 hole (cant remember) and just enjoyed when he had a good day and also enjoyed his glove in the field.

So basically don't expect much but he won't kill you....
