How much is an * worth?

I dont think you can compare 2 differant guys like Lee & Lester. There are way to many differances to be accurate.

The question is if Lee got the * how much would he cost?

There is a small wild card that makes the non* pitchers worth even less, and that is their injury risk. a * pitcher will never miss a start due to injury, but I have had non* guys go down for as many as 2 starts at a time.

This might not be worth that much of a price difference, BUT when it happens, it does make a difference

Hey Hackra,
Here is where a disagree a bit about the non star injury. If I have a good long RP then a long injury to a non start starter can have the Long Rp throw games which most of the time has better cards then your 4th and 5th non * starters... I am sometime will go with a 5 man rotation with all non * starters and 1 really good R2 R3 type RP for when they get hurt. Just my 2 cents.

ggrover,

I suppose we do not disagree on this. If you realize that the non* guys can take an injury hit, and plan on having a mondo RP, you can turn this into a potential advantage. (not a strategy I have tried, but I see your point).
