Target Field Team Help

Target Field Team Help

Postby Rant » Thu Jan 12, 2012 5:37 pm

Looking for thoughts on a team. I missed on all of the power bats I was going for in the draft and waivers, and I'm stuck in the middle a bit. I have options at SP (would obviously not keep five *SP) and some easy salary I could come up with by dropping/rolling up some of my cheaper/platoon players. But my question is to what end - I'd love a power lefty bat in there, but it's slim pickings.

This was my only Target Field team. I had some very good hitters. McGehee leading the way. Looks like you need a third baseman.

Why 5 *SP's?

I love the strikeout pitchers here.

You can go cheap here with Wolf. He's done well for me, for the price.

You have some guys that can hit here. You have speed. You also have some guys that can go down for 15 games.

I've used the Aviles/Castro DH platoon here with success. Both guys have speed and have 35+ hit chances.

I don't like Werth here. I've used him in hitting parks without much success. I can only imagine what he'll do here.

I'm not a fan of Jackson in CF. He K's way too much.

Here's my Target team that won it all:

Thanks everyone.

5* sp because I drafted them all and actually got them all in the draft. I hadn't made the decision to use Wolf yet, so I'm holding onto all of them for the time being. Planning on not having them all by the season's start.

I didn't draft Youk or Werth, but was struggling with upgrades. Good to hear feedback.

Interesting strategy Allen.

A mix of small ball and hitting park guys.

Once again proving that there are more than 1 ways to skin a cat...
