Wade Boggs baseball card for my first Strato Season

Wade Boggs baseball card for my first Strato Season

Postby MrHacktastic » Sat Mar 03, 2012 5:03 pm

Here is the card I made based on my first Stratomatic season. My real life dog's name is Boggs in honor or Wade. All my pets have Red Sox names actually. I have cats named Pokey, Nomar, and Mo. I have had cats named Dewey, Manny, and Ortiz that have died. None of that is relevant actually lol.

My first season of Stratomatic started great. I drafted Tim Raines and Wade Boggs like I wanted. I had Clemens carrying my rotation and then like a rookie I made a bunch of roster moves at penalty and completely destroyed my team. I kept trying to make moves to soften the blow of the bad move before it and before I knew it my 38-22 team was 81 and 81 and had blown it.

But some fun things still happened. Rock led the league in stolen bases and I think Runs as well. Boggs as you can see on the card led the league in OBP, BA, and Hits.

I swear this is the last card I will post today. Not much happening on the forums so hopefully people aren't too annoyed at my threads.

I got a broken foot so I aint going anywhere.

I like the Boggs card. Nice shot of his stance.

I'm sorry about your cats. I know how tough that is. I cry like a baby when they die or quit eating (and I have to take them to the vet for the last time).

Damn that sucks about your foot. I have had enough injuries and surgeries where I can certainly relate to being laid up for a bit. Sorry man.

Lol. No but HAL just autodrafted me Buckner for my upcoming 86 team lol. I might actually have to keep him too which is almost unbearable. But ironically his defense isn't that bad, his card just can't hit. It seems to me that if the biggest play of your life goes through your personal "5 hole" you should just automatically be ranked a 5 defensively forever.

Poor guy was a solid hitter but received a real lame card. He drove in a lot of runs that year and didn't even get any positive clutch factor to help compensate for the crazy low dice rolls.

hahahaha

EDIT: Yes, I laugh but I have sympathy for Mr. Buckner. He was a good player for the Dodgers, Cubs, and Red Sox so it's a shame he's remembered too much for the ball that went through his legs in that World Series.
