Advice on this US Cellular team needed (UPDATED)

Any Suggestions? Who produces the best in this stadium? The other ballparks in my division are Angels Stadium, Bank One Ballpark, and Kauffman Stadium.

My 2 pennies...

RJ is NOT a pitcher you want in the Cell. He'll get killed vs. righties.
Since you'll play 81 games there, you want a SP that does not give up BPHR's BOTH ways.

Although they are low risk HR's, same goes for Davis.

Blanton vs. righties is not ideal for the Cell too.

L. Hernandez, I guess isn't that bad as a #4 SP. I think there are better ones though...

Your RP is OK, though I'd like to see a lefty that gets lefties out. (Hard lefty)

Hitting:

C- Miller is fine. You may need to spend a bit more on a back up. Miller is a slightly higher risk and could spend more time on the DL. Look for a catcher who hits lefties better. ie. Buck / Pratt etc... should platoon with Miller.

1B- Clark. Good card, but you need a decent back up because of the higher injury rating.

2B- Kent. Good card, nice clutch. BUT a 3 @ 2B is not a good thing. Unless Kent totally mashes the ball, he's prolly gonna give up a # of hits.
Getting rid of him is a lower priority right now though...

SS- Peralta. Gotta go. He's strictly a DH. You'll never win in this game with a 4 @ SS. Too many hits are given up.

3B- Figgins. Like him alot. Nice card. But I want more power from this position. Glaus available?

LF- Floyd. Hands down your best player for the price in this park. He stays...

CF- Sullivan. Nice value card. Good D. But not a typical Cell/Coors CF'er.

RF- Encarnacion. Good card this season. Good D, w/ + clutch. Good choice but can get hurt for 15 games.

Hafner, I assume is gonna DH. Good DH choice for your park, but I'd rather see either 1 DH that's a bit more balanced, or 2 DH's that lean to the R/L side.

Hope this helps...

If I'm seeing your FA list right, I'd go with:

SP: (Looks like it's been picked clean of the * SP's)
I like:
Tejada
Wang
Rogers
Kazmir
Dessens
Bautista

RP:
Villone (Hard lefty)

C:
Buck
P.Phillips
Mirabelli

1B: (Backup to Clark)
Snow (Expensive though)
Gomez
Hatteberg

2B:
Giles
Polanco (or keep Kent)
Roberts if you wanna go crazy with $

SS:
Reyes (good D, hits well, low OB but he can hit, value...)
Wilson
Everett (both these guys will save you runs. Everett is cheaper though)

3B:
Polanco
Glaus
Hall
Platoon Lopez/Helms
Cantu

CF:
Sizemore
Wells (Only if you are gonna see 5 or more LH's)
Rowand
Beltran
Dejesus
Cameron with a platoon

RF:
Giles (Great leadoff guy, but also can drive in runs with his + clutch
Walker
Guiel
Dye
or keep Juan...

I agree with socal on the *SP. They don't fit your stadium. I would put all fours on the trade market (Johnson and Blanton might attract some good offers), and them dump them all. I would try to get five decent SP (non *, in the 3-4 range), and try to improve the offense in key position like catcher, 3b (Glaus would be great), cf, lf. For ss, I would jump on either Everett or Wilson if still available. It makes perfect sense to use your 9th for the best defense in the most important defensive position in any stadium.

Perhaps I am wrong, but I don't see your team having a winning season with the current roster.

The whole point about parks with high ballpark homerun chances (and US Cell has the highest chances) is that for your pitchers you want as few # results as possible (0 if possible or else maybe only one on a 2 or 12) and you want as much # on your hitters as you can get. Every player on your roster should be evaluated for that factor as one of the top main factors plus of course other factors such as on base percentage and defense. I know it's tempting to go for a Figgins but his speed is a waste in this HR park and there are plenty of better options who will give much better production as their #'s turn into almost automatic HR's.

The starting pitching on this roster is truly horrendous for this factor and should be replaced asap with the possible exception of Livan who for his low price is not too bad in US Cell. I would do anything and everything to replace the other 3 starters.

As for the hitting again # results are paramount and for D.Miller, Figgins, and Sullivan they have almost no # results and should be replaced asap. Encarnacion has some # but not much for an outfielder and he should also be replaced in my view.

By contrast Kent is very good for your park as he's one of the very few 2Bmen with good # chances. He is a 3 and that is a big negative but it's worth it considering all the HR's he'll hit, I'd much rather have him in US Cell than a 2 with very few #'s. Floyd is gold and Haffner and Clark are good for your park.

I'm mixed on Peralta at SS, he is a good hitter for your park and at SS there are *very* few good US Cellular options so on that basis he's a keeper. However, a 4e22 at SS is a big liability so overall he's probably not worth having there unless there truly is no-one else decent to get. He's not a good enough hitter at DH so I wouldn't keep him just for that. If your division opponents have a lot of lefty starting pitching (Peralta is great against lefties) then I'd definitely keep Peralta but if not then I'd try to find another decent option if one is available.

Here's my cellular team. I'm going with Kent at 2nd as well, but that's about it for similarities.

This is just my view but Wakefield and Westbrook are going to get pounded with their large # chances and I see a few hitters on the team with very few or no #'s although there are also a few hitters with good # chances. I'd try to replace Navarro (no # at all, there has to be a better US Cell catcher available), L.Harris (no # at all, at 1B there must be someone better or else just use Perez who has plenty of #), and O.Cabrera (no # at all though it may be tough to find a usable SS so Cabrera might be the best available),

Jason Giambi is a great DH for US Cell as he has huge on base (great setup for other guys with a lot of # on the team) and very-near-to-maximum # chances.
