Agreed.
Another guy who IS GREAT but will never get the recognition up here in South Alaska (i.e. Seattle), is Dave Niehaus. Miller almost came to Seattle in fact to be his partner, but I think he knew he was better than to be tucked away as 2nd fiddle to Dave in a smaller market.
Miller is great no matter who the teams are and what the score is. Niehaus developed the same ability to be entertaining regardless of the score, after broadcasting for the Angels and the M's when they sucked.
Jack Buck is WAAAYYYYY OVER-RATED IMO.
Vin Sculley: poetry meets baseball head on. Miller is for sure in the same class. But one is not better than the other. To say so is like saying (in their prime) that Willie Mays was better than Mickey Mantle, or vice versa.
