O.K. I was a wee bit confused about Mauer/Varitek because Mauer is listed both as Vs. RHP and in the bench. Its a really good tandem there. I agree with you, I think I'd rather have Mauer starting vs RHP and then switching if needed.

My only ? is with Mueller. I think he IS the best option you have for 3B but his gbAs are a bit funky for my taste . I looked through your 3 franchises but I don't see many options though. Carroll poped in my mind vs. LHP. But, I'd probably go with him as well.

I have a franchise-themed team at the mo where one team is Minn. I ended up choosing Redmond over Mauer mostly for his positive clutch and because he can use my park better than Mauer, but in any other time I would choose Mauer's stronger arm, lower gbAs and better speed. And especially with your franchises I'd go with Mauer. Nice team Lucky. 8)

Thanks for putting Carroll on my radar screen. He could be perhaps a nice 25th player (playing all middle infields, good bat vs lhp).

As for Mueller, he will probably hit 9th behind Castro. Castro is so weak that I will probably make him bunt or H-R, so Mueller will probably not have a lot of dp occasions.

Castro's so weak that I was wondering if playing Graffanino (ss4e26) wouldn't be an option!!!

Finished 5th out of 8 team in the round robin with a 3-3 record, and I lost my playoff game against the 4th team. Big papi missed a 3-run shot. My opponent made his. Final score: 6-5.

only thing i could suggestion lucky, grab Schneider, and used him for clutch hitting and defence replacements. example, with runners on base, two outs you need a hit, ph with Schneider. then if you prefer you could put in him the lineup.
