Extreme Injury experiences

Anyone have any insight as to whether SOM online definitely, most definitely, uses the same injury rules as the board game?
I have JD Drew in the '06 game right now. As of game 43, he will have missed 34 games completely (10 games twice, 8 games once, 6 games once), plus gotten injured in the middle of 4 games that sent him to the 34 games missed, for a grand total of 5 games played in their entirety.
Now, he's a "5" injury rating. In the board game, a 5 rated player will miss approximately an average of 200 plate appearances in a season. I've done the math on this and won't explain it completely right now.
I've also done the math on my current situation--the chances that he would miss as much time as he's missed in a 43-game period amounts to about 1 in 10,000. Am I just royally unlucky, or is there something I'm missing about the online game's injury rules?

Maybe someone should tell him about the injury mod- you did set it for statistical accuracy, didn't you?

I have Drew on about 12 teams at the moment, and he is missing [b:bb4a159d66]way more[/b:bb4a159d66] games than he should be. In fact, all of my injury guys are on pace to [b:bb4a159d66]far exceed[/b:bb4a159d66] their projected number of missed PAs.

Something definitely seems different about this years game...

In response to Big Mahon's comment about the frequency and severity of the injuries, I concur. One example is Tony Clark, he played three games, got injuried for 15 games, came back for two more games and went down again for fifteen again. He is a "2" rated injury. I didn't expect Richie Sexson, David Segui here. The same team had Polanco,, my third basemen down at the same time for 15. Seems a little excessive to 2005, but the sample size is so small, who knows.

I'm seeing the same problem with my first 2006 team. In the first 24 games, L, Castillo has been injured 3 times so far and has played only 6 games total. Derrick Lee, with his 600 PAs, has missed 6 games, and I've had 2-3 different players injured the whole time. Probably just really unlucky, but it makes you think......

I'll bet you:

a) Bernie/TSN has no control over this type of setting.
b) these are complete anomolies.

In addition, I can't seem to muster up any sympathy for those who choose to deal with the devil.
