Hey all,

i decide to try something really crazy, dont know if it will work, but here is the link

11 starters and one Rp, the hitting should score some runs, i think the s/rp could hold there own with the right matchup,, any thoughts of this idea?

I really like the idea of a super-flexible pitching staff. However, I would have done it a little bit differently than you have - I would have tried to pick up one stud starter (Zambrano fits that, and Rusch is solid, too, so I agree with you there), and a dominant closer (Wagner, Lidge). Speier doesn't fall into that category, and he kind of worries me at the back of your bullpen.

Also, you've got so many relatively cheap pitchers that can only start that two of your best starters (Rusch and Westbrook) are going to be called in to relieve fairly often, leaving you with either tired quality starters getting lit up like cheaper guys, or cheap guys getting lit up like they should. And if Rusch and Westbrook DON'T end up relieving at inopportune times, that will mean you're going with a four man bullpen - which will also be very little fun.

I enjoy the concept, and might try it out for myself, but the pitchers making up your staff wouldn't make me feel comfortable.

You do have what should be a solid enough offense and a decent defense behind those pitchers, so anything can happen. Good luck.

thanks JD for your output, however i wasnt able to land a stud closer. like ldige or wagner, the best really was out there was kline, but i didnt think he could do the job, justin Sp, i have used before and done well for me, in addition, i set him to avoid using before the 9th and i used haren against lefties, see if that will work out.

I agree with Jd. It is a very clever idea; however, I would suggested one stud starter (Zambrano), one good closer, and the rest of the staff of S/R pitchers (not pure starters).

I don't know if I'd do it the same way again, but here's my attempt (a little more than halfway through at the time of this message).

As you can see, I don't have all S/R guys, but I do [i:0c22c5cbec]spot start [/i:0c22c5cbec]everyone based on the opposing line-ups and ballparks. In hindsight, I should've probably spent a little more salary on pitching, but this team is doing okay so far.
