My first shea team

Okay, a couple of moves I see to make right now. Here goes:

1. Keep Thome and lose Casey. Even with people throwing a lot of lefties at you, Thome will still mash in Shea. With the lack of lower from your lineup right now, keeping Thome is huge.

2. Drop John Lieber in favor of a reverse lefty for your bullpen, such as Neal Cotts. You have four starters that can start on three days rest, and Danny Haren to spot start if need be, so you don't need to be spending that much money on Lieber. If you want a reverse left who can spot start, I would go with Noah Lowry or Wilson Alvarez.

3. Michael Young will add some spark to any lineup in a non-DH league, especially if you bat him in the 2 hole behind Juan Pierre. My question is his defense... I have never played in a non-DH league, so I don't know if defense is as important. An SS-3e20 seems a little risky to me, but thinking about it, he could really help you score some runs. Take the risk and go for it.

4. Ross Gload... I wouldn't bat him any higher than sixth in the lineup, with the number of DP's he's sure to hit into. You might even want to avoid that plan altogether and drop him in favor of a righty who kills lefty pitching, since you are so heavy on left handed bats. Besides, putting Gload in left is going to kill your outfield defense, since Pierre is the only one who can catch and they all throw like girls.

5. Eric Valent is strong enough in Shea to start in left field. Maybe you could go out and see if there is a guy like Eric Young available? I would recommend Merloni because he pounds lefties, but he'll committ so many errors in left field that you will be bald from ripping your hair out by the end of week two.

6. Damian Miller is a pricey back up for Mauer, but if Mauer goes down a lot, you will thank your lucky stars that you grabbed Miller. Nice move.

7. Set Brad Lidge as your set up and closer both ways. I know he's right handed and that might cost you some games, but he is lights out most of the time. If you set him that way, he could throw 150 innings and strikeout 200 batters. You'll be impressed with those numbers, I believe.

8. Hand Blalock should be more than solid for you. If any of the teams in your division start a lot of righties, you will see some huge numbers from him.

All right, that's all I've got for you right now. Good luck with the rest of your moves, and I will check back tomorrow.

JD, I pulled off a deal, insead of losing casey, that i really wanted to keep, i endup trading him along with pierre for damon, damon gives abit better d, however hits abit better in shea then pierre does, yes i know its a two for one deal, but sometimes you need to make moves like this to fix other areas, also i drop gload, and pickup BJ. Surhoff does get injuried, but i really like him in any park against anybody, Perfect number 2 hitter Vs lefties since i am probably going to bad Young First,

I did drop mauer, and pick up mathney and nevin. I like and prefer nevin over mauer, becuause of the injury risk he has. I could've went another way insead, but I still need some righthand punch from the leftside and mauer i dont think hits well against lefties at all.

In the pitching i added Beckett ( i need someone on the road) as starter.
Rheal cormier I head he is very good in shea, also for long relief Jusin Duchscherer, and Lowry, I am thinking of droping Mark. Buehrle, but i really dont think that be a good idea.

any thoughts of theese moves?

Rage, don`t let Beckett start at Shea, he sucks. So does Buehrle.

Thanks for the input there axemet, I am really debating about that too, i first need to see if a trade will go through before making my final pitching staff, I am thinking about lieber for road games, he is a very good starter against right -hand bats, to bad he doesnt have * would be abit better. but he is worth his value.
