This was interesting ...

Hmm. As a Newbie embarking on my first game tomorrow night this is . . . interesting. :| With no catching experience on the remainder of your staff, wouldn't they just keep in the original catcher automatically?

I also see a notation for "Meltdowns" in the box score. What does that refer to, if I can ask?

Thank you.

Doh! I thought Meltdown was a tech term. See what a newbie I am.

I played SOM BB and FB in the mid-60s and found it a joy. My son got into it much more than I ever did.

I think I picked a good team (2008 Live Draft, DH, 12 teams), but I will only know when the rubber meets the road.

I guess I am looking for that "gap" between the RL stats for the player and how he performs as an SOM player. I think I may be overvaluing my pitching. I'm not sure whether a RL Ace is valued or performs as well relatively in the SOM world.

I will see, I guess, very soon.

Thanks for the welcome,

Artie

This should do it.

I guess that in the REAL world, having Aces that I have would do the trick. I get the word from some solid experienced folks here that Offense carries more weight.

Also, I lean toward ATT Park (or Fenway) as my ballpark: Singles strong, but HR weak. This will highlight my pitchers and high .BA

Thoughts?

Thank you for you analysis.

You don't see Rhodes or Breslow as good relievers against lefties? I was hoping they would be.

CF I have heard from as a problem from a few folks, the fielding AND hitting. Wish I had Beltran. :)

Your analysis of the 900+ and 800+ analysis is fascinating. I need to do some more studying. Interesting.

Thanks again!

Breslow and Rhoads are both keepers but I think you need one more reliever and one less starter, particularly a reliever with a C3 or better rating and is good against lefties.
