questions about ratings book

Postby ClowntimeIsOver » Tue Jan 25, 2011 11:04 pm

Is this ratings book accurate for online strat, or just the board game? -- that is, is there a separate ratings book for online strat, and if so, where do you get it?:

http://www.strat-o-matic.com/products/2010-ratings-book

It says "2010" -- does that mean the 2009 season or the (unreleased) 2010 season?

It's good for both.

2010 is the cards coming out. The 2010 season.

I would recommend getting the disk rather than the book. You can sort and do different things with files that you can't do with the book.

You can make an argument for both.

I like the physical book because, like I said in the past, it makes great bathroom reading material.

Also the book contians one piece of information the spreadsheet does not, the injury ratings.

But neither contain the salaries, and the salaries come out along with the injury ratings when the online game comes out. As long as you can wait for one, why not wait for the other? Like joethejet said, the disk is definitely a lot more interactive.

I am an Excel user, and I have just enough knowledge to combine the SOM online player files -- which has the injury rating -- with the Strat-o Rating book [i:f9b1f5e625]AND[/i:f9b1f5e625] the Diamond Dope file into ONE megafile. It takes some deleting and juggling of columns and rows, but once you are done, you have ALL the [i:f9b1f5e625][b:f9b1f5e625]sortable [/b:f9b1f5e625][/i:f9b1f5e625]information anyone would ever want or need on each player.

fielding ratings

Postby cshannajr » Fri Feb 04, 2011 7:50 am

I have Chris Young in one of my keepers and he is rated as a CF 1(B2). I think he is a 1. So, what does the (B2) mean?

It means he's a 2 in the Basic version of the board game. The basic version does not use the X-chart for errors, so error ratings are built into the range rating, hence the drop from 1 to 2.

The important thing for your purpose thugh, is it has absolutley no bearing on TSN Strat-o-Matic. :D
