Am I on pace for the best '06 record yet, with my first team?

Someone on the Tour won 110 or 112. Look at Teepaks Tour blog. I predict the "No Luck Donkeys" will live up to their name now that their 16-2 start has been publicized.

The tour team that won 112 was in the 100M event, so I don't think it will get a spot in the record book.

Very nice Jerlins!! That's very impressive...could you link that team?

By the way I just swept 3 last night, which is nice? :? That's not a big deal, but only 60 games left and 102 gone, getting down to the home stretch. Very nice start Dinsdale, but I've played 24 games more which is something...and what was your runs scored/allowed combo? My 611-428 mark

Some of my players ARE performing a little better then they should, but some aren't doing much, Molina, Castillo, Clark when he played for me, I'm getting Vogelsong thrown in there too often when important(not happy about the 3-7 record, he shouldn't be ABLE to get that many losses), and burrell has sucked big time for me. Loe, Thompson, and Kazmir's WHIP's are all around 1.6....it's basically the RP that has been HUGE for me, which has made this team, and the fact that my semi-low WHIP of 1.39 is largely walks(which is huge) accounts for alot of them(i lead the league in least hits allowed)

bleacher -- Hearing you say my team is not good is kind of funny...not saying they would be doing so well ANOTHER time, but I know it would make the playoffs -- I'm FOURTEEN games in right now so should be getting ready for them. Any my platoon in RF against there side is hitting .333 .400 .619 against THEIR side (.302 .362 .532 overall) which is VERY good for 3.53 mil! Their defense hurts but definately worth it, and although they are outperforming their cards vs their sides overall, they actually aren't THAT far off from how they read -- check out raw numbers

-Sorry if it seems like I'm defending myself I just think a couple comments are ridiculous

Thanks for all of the support/luck wishing :D , and I really hope I finish with at least 100 also! Either way I'm going to happy with this team! :)

Dude no offense but you need a thicker skin if you feel like you have to answer other people's "ridiculous" comments......your posts read VERY defensive.

Your team is having a very good season and you should enjoy it, but I think what people are saying is things tend to revert to the mean and perhaps you should hold off on all the self-congratulation until the end of the year....because baseball's a funny game. Good luck on your quest for 100 wins.

You shouldn't start a post like this and not expect responses like this. I think what people are trying to say is that your team is good but it's still early. I see a solid team but one that is definitely overperforming. You have 7 guys hitting around .300 which is unheard of regardless of the stadium you play in. Valentin hitting over .300? In stratomatic, it's rare to have that many guys this late into the season hitting that well (even in your stadium). I also think your pitching staff is playing over their head. For that staff to be leading the league in ERA (playing in the Cell) is crazy unless your competition is extremely weak. I think your team will cruise into the playoffs but is definitely beatable come playoff time.

My goal of this post was to find out what the record for wins in a season is. At least 103 is nice, but there hasn't been much comment on that. Also I would randomly like to know how many 2006 teams leagues have been played so far if anyone has ANY idea

Sorry for being defensive but I've spent alot of time on this, and for him to say my team isn't good -- i think it's stupid. And who says that this is playing that much above their mean? [b:8a176e9e8f]maybe[/b:8a176e9e8f] a little, but you can't just say it.

As for the .300 hitters, Bell is DEFINATELY a .300 card vs lefties, add it up, Diaz also is pretty close if not there, Tejada is a .300 hitter in real life in .05, as are castillo and piedra! And that leaves Valentin who might be hitting .010 points higher then he should be. Just a dumb comment, look at the cards. This game is not that hard, if you just do that.

Yeah well real life doesn't always equate to stratomatic and my point is that it is very rare to have that many hitters doing so well (regardless of what their real life stats were). furthermore, given the fact you play in a hitters park, I also think you've hit a stroke of luck to have the top pitching staff. With that said, I think you have a very good team and time will tell if it ends up with the top record.

Luck of the Roll

Postby BRADSANDBOTHE » Mon Jul 31, 2006 2:21 pm

Just to make a point on how fast it can all fall apart.......

I had a team that was 57-48 and in 1st Place in my division with 57 games left.

I went an unexplicable 18-39 to finish the season. Ended up 75-87 and dead last in my division.

Talk about ending in a swoon.

Them Chickens ain't hatched just yet.

Stranger things have happened.

Good luck though
