Yes, there do seem to be alot of those types of hitters....that is why i thought it would be a good park to try :) Of course, it has taken me most of the year to figure out what most of you figured out in the first week!!

Don't forget Marcus Thames. Great in MM, even if it's just as a bench player.

Chris Shelton had a really good season for me in MM, I thought Mora would but he ddn't. Miguel Cabrera was also nice. If there are lefthanded starters in your division I would also suggest Kevin Mench.

Carpenter a must have IMO for his relatively cheap price, availability and dominance vs RH. I had good success with a Guillen/G Anderson platoon, using the logic that you will usually see LH pitching in LH parks where Anderson will thrive, and visa/versa for Guillen. It lets you keep an extra RH slugger in there at home most of the time, while still giving a lefty presence when needed. Same logic applies tom Taverez in CF with Finley. Nothing great, but you might as well have Finley and play him in the LH parks.

Tony Graffanino if you don't mind a 3 at second base..

AB...R...H...2B.3B.HR.RBI.AVG.
615-83-200-22-9-15-106-.325
608-79-193-17-5-13- 78-.317

Peavy gave up 51 HR.

""Just because I really like all of you guys, even though you might use this next time we're in the same division -in fact I am such a master of the Juice box I certainly recommend you to go with the following next time we're in the same div and you're in MM:

C Brian McCann
1B Sean Casey, Erubiel Durazo
2B Todd Walker
3B David Newhan
SS Craig Counsell
OF Brad Wilkerson, Jim Edmonds, Ichiro, Matsui, Garret Anderson, Kotsay, Johnny Damon.""

Cummings gave you some great starts for offense, but left you without a starting staff,
I'd recommend Jeff Harris, Brandon McCarthy, and then save some money for those big guns by using Brian Anderson, Scott Erickson, and of course Tim Redding! :D :D
And the in the bullpen there's Joe Borowski, Julio Mateo, and Chris Hammond against Righties

I actually did use Counsell at MM  My logic was that you do have to have a couple of lefties, and that it made sense to have them at the up-the-middle positions where there isn't much power to get anyway. It didn't work with two of the three guys (Counsell: 229/321/326, Furcal: 244/313/360), although Edmonds actually did ok (245/360/476). Seanez was very poor (4.61 ERA). Pettitte hung in there (3.77). As you can probably tell, it was a lousy team, even with A. Ramirez, E. Perez, Gomes, Kearns and Lane combining for 154 HR for not all that much money. Had I had some guys to get on base, it might have been something.

Dean,

I don't disagree with this logic. In fact, I estimate Counsell's performance to be fair, given the defense he gives. Furcal is perhaps disappointing, but coming from the bottom of the line-up, in MM that hurts so much left-handed bats, why ask for more?
