MM Team- a first for me

I would do the deal. Why, you ask? Well because as mentioned above you need 2-3 LHH in MM. Of those 2 should be high obp or high BA guys..Duffy, Helton( I can hear the naysayers now...but he will produce) etc. Hey, Podsednick ain't bad there either. For the 3rd LHH you absolutely need a natural power hitting LHH in MM. All but one natural LH power hitter is injury prone. Ortiz is the only healthy NPLHH in the set. Clark, Griffey, Hafner etc all are injury prone. It is a factor you have to deal with. Understand all of these guys are going to miss 15-20+ games. Still, I have seen Clark hit 50 in MM in 138 game season. If I had to choose I would take Clark and Glaus(iffy guy but with Coors in divison he could pay off) over Konerko(another iffy) and Chipper who is more BP dependent by far than Clark. If you can grab Brad? @ 1.01 to back up your injury prone slugger. He can jack a dozen off the bench if needed.

Also, I personally am not a fan of your staff at all. You will play 82 on the road against teams with plenty of LHH's. You need some kinda balance! Your pen will get rocked without the ability to get out LHH. There are plenty of cheap non* SP that are very good for MM this year. I would consider a 5-6 man rotation that has no starter over say 4.3(Small). Just a thought.

Ok,
First let's look at my starters:

I have 5 *SP all of them righty that favor Righties.

I should get a lefty, but do I want a lefty that favors RHB or LHB

Which of the 5 starters would you part with.

I am thinking it would be Byrd, he would free up more cash and there is not that big of difference between him, Weaver and JJ.

Mulder isn't available right now, but he was my first thought for MM, but I don't know if that will work or not.

That's exactly why you want Clark to hit lefty Scottie.

He's a 3R plus all thos natural HR's are gonna help...

Byrd is a very nice, cost effective pitcher. He'll do well @ home and the other parks as well. (He actually won 21 games for me earlier @ Coors).

I would keep him.

Splinter is right Bodie. A cheap LH or 2 would help. H. Ramirez, N. Robertson is fine. (and cheap)

Check out each team's makeup. See how many potential R/L SP's you will see and also how many R/L batters as well.

Taveras needs a cheap platoon in CF.

Tarbell is also right in that a Garabito/Young platoon (if available) are both nice cheap leadoff guys.

You need 2-3 sluggers that will take advantage of your park's dimensions.

If you can't get Clark, keep Konerko, ManRam and Vlad. The rest should be switchies/lefties with a righty or 2 thrown in.

This will keep the opposing managers honest rather than throw hard righties at you a ALL of the time.

A couple of choices I have seen work in MM as bottom of the rotation guys who also give you hope on the road......Hampton(he just wins...his era will float around 4.5 but he will end up with a winning record when he gets 1/2 his starts in MM) Thompson (gives up hits...but thats all..no power off his card....500 pitcher at best but cheap and allows you to spend else where) Bedard( again..gives up hits but no power..can actually win in MM against a line-up with 6-7 RHH's)D. Cabrerra can rule in MM on the cheap. I have used him and Thompson as 5th starters/platoon with alot of success.

I agree with everything the splinter said except thompson he was 1-14 for me in mm with an era near 7 cost me a playoff spot

I would keep your 4 starters (whichever of the 4 you want) and add a cheap situational lefty on the road like bedard doesnt need to be a *

I have noticed that bigmahon has quite a few lefty hitters in his lineup, and the Coors team has Clark and Ortiz.

That would mean I definitely need a good Lefty pitcher presumably to pitch better to Lefty's (am I right thinking this way) or should I look for a Righty pitcher that is hard lefty thrower???

I am posting links Pre-waivers for all teams in my division:

and my team as of now:

I see where people say that MM is easy to play in, but I guess that would have been for those that have played there. This is Perplexing to me and I find myself trying to shape my team to fit others more than forcing them to shape theirs to fit my team and park.

C'mon you Baseball gods help a brother out.

I was going to use Jeter and Taveras as my 1-2 or Jeter, Chipper
with Konerko and M. Ram as my 3-4 and Vlad as my 6,
I could keep Chipper (Switchy) and get Griffey (lefty) for Taveras and use Jeter/Chipper as 1-2. But that still leaves me with only one lefty and one Switch hitter as starters.
Plus both are very Injury prone.

Also,

What about Closers for MM, I have Turnbow, but he wasn't my choice.

Would he be worth the cash, or would I be better off Platooning cheaper.
