Pitching Help at Shea

Postby qksilver69 » Sat Dec 03, 2005 11:42 am

Looking better Chase, but don't overvalue the need for a RH closer. Any C0 or C1 is usually good enough for a Shea team since u have Ryan already, and much better to have a guy who gives up a few BP HR to RH rather than so many to LH. HAL will leave Speier in often vs LHB, and you don't want that in Shea. Post a list of closers under $2M sorted by WHIP if u get a chance & we'll try to pick a winner.

Also, for reverse LHP I prefer a Zito type to an Alvarez for Shea. Again, BP HRs to LHB is what u want to avoid. I like Vinnie Chulk some even though he has a few BP HR, plus he's cheaper and if u swap out Speier & Alvarez for cheaper guys, you can get that platoon hitter for 1B. Kevin Gregg or Tim Worrell also decent Shea options....
