Keeper League? On-going theme? Opening? Interest?

I would be interested in a Keeper League... Not as knowledgeable and on top of things like most of ya but maybe I will make a good scout...

We could have a keeper league with a liitle twist. We could play two seasons per year, a 200 Mil and an 60 mil. Draft 48 players- keep 40 the following year and draft 8 new each year- Draft four non-carded players.
It would be challenging and fun. If you guys are interested, I could put the rules together and see if we can get 12.
These are just suggestions and while the rules above are good (I'm in that keeper too-as well as one I am commish in) I think we could simplyfy the rules a little. A 200 and a 60 could be fun. Or on a theme note, we could play two leagues both on the 200 mil format, but with a stipulation, say one of your starting pitchers needs to be 1.25 or under, or ....

Ok. Let's start with this. Here are the general rules: [b:22e9d61c8d]I will go with a more[/b:22e9d61c8d] [b:22e9d61c8d]detailed rule set later[/b:22e9d61c8d] but for now this could be a real fun, challenging and interesting league. And, I would act as commish, with one other volunteer to help, if needed.

[b:22e9d61c8d]IMPORTANT[/b:22e9d61c8d]: This league should go for many years, so if you are not positive you want to do this for a long time, do not sign up. And, if you are a rookie, please get someone in the strat world to vouch for you.

It will be a long-term keeper and would look like this.

1. A 48 player draft with a stadium (49 picks) (to be changed, if desired, every two years) Draft to be held on draft site
2. No supplemental in-season draft.
3. A two-round non-carded player draft to be held i[b:22e9d61c8d]n between[/b:22e9d61c8d] the two "seasons". See below.
3. We will play two seasons each year and here is the interesting thing:
[b:22e9d61c8d]Season one will be a 200 Mil league and season two will be a 60 mil league[/b:22e9d61c8d]. This would make the draft interesting, yes?
4. Each year, after the first year, teams will declare their 40 man rosters. So, this means each team will have to release 10 players into the free agent pool.
5. At the beginning of each year there will be a 8 player non-serpentine draft based on worst to best (regular season) records of the previous years (two-season record)
6. [b:22e9d61c8d]Bonus for winning the 200 Mil an 60 Mil leagues[/b:22e9d61c8d]: The winner of each league will have an extra pick in the non-carded draft. So, let's say you win the 200 Mil the first year and you pick 9th in the non-carded draft. You then, at that spot, get two picks. In other words, you get three non-carded players instead of two. Same with the 60 mil league, except since that league is after the first non-carded player draft you would get your extra player the following year.

I can fill in the details, as I said earlier, but for now let's mark out 12 available spots and see what happens. If you have a saved spot, please grab it right away. see new thread. We will save spots for four days (Thursday May1st) for those that expressed interest first. Then open the Forever League up to others
