I think the point is, though, that Furcal would be better than both Escobar and Mench offensively (higher OPS), AND would be a 2 shortstop. He would probably be the second best offensive SS to Hanley, and be a 2. Escobar is the most expensive guy I've seen with an injury on 7, and Furcal should be worth quite a bit more...

What he said :D but adding, better baserunner, base stealer, bunterand Hit and Run than Escobar, hence the price bump.

I was able to deal one of my draft picks to free up the DH spot for Hairston. If he gets an ok defense somewhere I might consider playing him there, but now I don't NEED to. It's good to know that the majority of you discouraged putting him in the field. I'll need a decent backup available for when he goes down (I'm expecting at least a 3 injury rating), but I should be able to find a decent DH.
