This team needs a medic!

Hope your luck turns around...and it looks like you've had a good start to it!

On a side note, I have Santana in AT&T and he's had similar results ... giving up a lot of homers (16 in 84 innings).

Sorry I didn't have a chance to get on yesterday and comment.

Ellis for Burris is a slight upgrade v RHP. He removes one of your "weak" players and plays better D. You just have to keep him healthy.

Gordon is a good pick up for Figgins. Are you platooning Dillon there with Christian DHing? I would recommend this v hard LHSP.

Not sure what the logic behind picking up Kapler for Span was however. That's the puzzler. Kapler is worse v RHP than Span. Yes, he's N power, but... I don't like this part of the move.

Some thoughts on your first idea:

Targetting Aramis was a good idea.

Not sure you could afford to lose Nathan and Devine and Ohman.

Hill wouldn't have helped you v RHP. He's another lefty killer.

Overall, your offense, did improve v RHP somewhat. Wish you wouldn't have done the Kapler move however.

Ratings for Floyd and Maddux are roughly the same, it will depend on whether you're seeing a lot of LHB or not. Maddux is a LOT better v LHB.

Take a look at your division and see if you have something that is out of balance.

Unless I'm missing something, wouldn't Floyd cost more than Maddux at 80% drop?

If you decide to work back from picking up Kapler and can't afford Span or any of the higher priced guys like Bay, you might want to sacrifice for a bit more power against the right. I don't like his 4 rating or dps, but Ordonez is affordable and available. Really depends on what you feel you need. Span is a great #2 hitter, but if you need a power bat, you may want to look at someone else.

I think he's still at the 90% drop stage.

Maglio isn't a bad choice for power. Drops his overall D rating from average to below average, but does increase the O rating v RHP and the power numbers. Also lowers the injury risk.

So I thought I'd co-opt your thread and see if you had any comments back for my disaster of an AT&T team.

I'm losing a lot of close games (and not so close games). My expanded W/L is hovering around .500, so I'm wondering if it's a bit of luck at play for why I'm [i:8723678bac]so[/i:8723678bac] bad. I obviously have some glaring weaknesses (high injury potential, not the fastest group of players for a pitcher's park, some holes in the relief corps). It [i:8723678bac]feels[/i:8723678bac] like if Santana, Dempster, and Papelbon were pitching up to snuff I'd be in a better position, but no guarantees that others wouldn't falter in their place.

I've toyed around with dropping a frontline starter for a cheaper option like Maddux, dropping Blevins for Byrdak, and upgrading Corcoran for a rp like Wade or Devine.

Any thoughts?
