halfway point: surprises? disappointments? worth-the-money?

Thanks very much for all the responses, guys

I noticed this on another team in my league: Scott Kazmir, 3.24m, 18 starts, 108 IP, 2.82/1.34 ... granted, in Tropicana.

And, in the super-cheap column: Shawn Camp, 0.69m, 32 games, 42.1 IP, 3.19/0.95 (in Cellular; note he has no BPHR).

Also gotta like Emmanuel Burriss, a 2e20 second baseman for 1.31m, whose OBP is .354 and has 16 SB in 67 games.

Seriously? I know some consider it yelling but since the poster is not directing his post at one person in particular, does it really offend you that much? Are we at the opera? Some may consider all caps bad form, but others may consider negative scolding posts in bad form as well.

I have a team with both Berkman and Giles, 40+ games into the season, each batting under .220.

I also have them separately on other teams tearing it up...soooooo...until the season(s) is(are) over, I don't put much stock in surprise performances yet (either positive or negative).

I've been pleasantly surprised by JJ Hardy. He's hitting .320 with 17 HRs and 46 RBIs at the 63 game mark in one league. Good defense to boot.

Berkman, Braun and Fontenot have been good to me.

Disappointments are many:

Danks
Aramis Ramirez
Manny Ramirez
Delgado
Markakis

Most interesting and most impressive platoon I've seen:

In AT&T Park (pitcher's park) after 48 games....check out these numbers!

3B Platoon
Joe Dillon vs. Lefties - .421 BA, .522 OBP, .597 SLUG (57ABs)
Brian Buscher vs. RH - .395 BA, .440 OBP, .529 SLUG (119 ABs)

How many 3Bs can do that?

Grant Balfour is a GOD! 93 games in:

54.2 IP, 1.32 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, 31 saves, 99 K's. Plus home stadium is Great American.

brandon webb couldn't suck any worse on multiple teams for me. picked him up in two new leagues because he's done well against me, and first time through the division in both leagues...3 starts each, combined 0-5, er.a. an even 6, and 6.19 and whip 1.81 and 1.89. that's my ACE!

I love balfour too, but his early returns are scary, although im glad HAL uses him almost every night. through just 9-games, 6 appearances, two wins, two saves, two blown saves, an e.r.a. over 6, and a whip of 2.81! he's walked EIGHT in 5.2 IP. still love him, just sayin...
