Bunting question

I think Hal bunts to hold down scoring sometimes. It is not always because it is a good idea to bunt. I had a game where a 'C' bunter running speed 1-14 bunted to try to lead off an inning late in a game where the run didnt mean anything. I know it was a bunt attempt because the hitter was the DH and the pitcher was injured. Ground out plus injury. The problem was that the pitcher had a flyout plus injury. It was a horrible strategic move to bunt. The chance to get on base swinging away was far higher than bunting. The batter was set to 'do not bunt' and the manager setting was set to 'conservitive.' Soooo Hal bunted in a lame place against the controls we are given....or the box score and injury were reported in error. I am not real happy with either choice.
