Lineup Questions

[quote:8b00fdeb48="tsnmember_163999"]I was also wondering :?

Freel could make about 30 more runs scored than say Hunter or Jones. Would him being a 3 in Center cost me that many runs with solid pitching over the course of a season.[/quote:8b00fdeb48]

If you have the board game, it's best to look at the "Super Advanced Fielding Chart" to really answer this question. That is the only way to see for yourself what the differences are between fielders' ratings.

That, and look at your pitchers' cards. CF-X is a pretty common result.

I don't have the chart in front of me, but a "1" in CF (EVERY time CF-X comes up) will result in an out due to his great range, in something like 85%-90% of CF-X situations. A "3" will give up a hit in closer to 50% of CF-X results.

In addition, more of those hits will be for extra bases also.

It'll hurt your pitchers over the long haul, and in my experience will affect your runs allowed in almost EVERY GAME.

Update

The CF "3" range question prompted me to look into this further, and inspired a new thread on CF range.
