Can a canuck join? People say that even the Canadian Conservative Party is close to a Democrat platform, so I guess that might qualify me as a Democrat. I think I follow US politics enough to know that (as a Democrat) I shouldn't accept any invitations to tea parties or date girls named Sarah, so I hope I can join in the fun!

DAMIT

Postby chasenally » Thu May 06, 2010 12:04 am

Sounds like a fun league with many great topics to be discussed as the season unfolds. I just could not lean left if you cut off my left arm and leg and tied Jon Stewart and the entire CNN broadcast team to my left ear   . Have fun and good luck. Mike

Hey Geoff, welcome to America! :D You did get one thing slightly wrong. It's OK to date Sarah (ooh la la), but voting for a Sarah is another matter.......

Sorry Mike, I'm sure Jeep will run this league again in 4 years. You can throw your GOP hat in the ring at that time.

Not to get into a huge political discussion here as this is not the time nor the place...

Me and my big pie hole just cannot let chasenally's comment go without a response.

Left wing generally refers to more "liberal" or "progressive" views, as in wanting to change things in ways that have not been tried before. My rhetorical question would be, are things really that good here in the US that a little change would hurt?

Some guy Einstein once said...(paraphrasing) The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. Right wing usually refers to more "conservative" or "regressive" views, as in wanting things to stay the same or return to how they used to be. While I wish ALOT of things could return to the way they use to be, it's not going to happen. And when you just "stay the same", you never evolve as a person or a country.

There I said my peace.

Now let's PLAY BALL!!!

Ah, but Mike, didn't you know that Jon Stewart is the most trusted news source? Certainly more "fair and balanced" than that other network. Darn, it's too bad you won't join us. :P
